School Improvement Goal (Reading): By the Spring of 2008, 65.1% of all Morris Schott Middle School students will pass the reading assessment targets as measured by the WASL.

Every teacher engaged in reading instruction will be offered training in the program they are assigned before school starts. They will also receive periodic follow up training. Staff will receive training in the creation of pacing calendars.

Rookie: Evidence of implementation in the classroom and responsiveness to coaching.

Experienced: Full implementation and augmentation of materials.

Staff will use Betsy Cornell reading targets in all content areas.
