Inclement Weather Plan

Although it is only fall WSD would like to take share our Inclement Weather Plan in advance. As we move into the winter months, the possibility of snow and ice becomes greater. In emergencies, such as snow and icy weather conditions, our district's top priority is the safety of students and staff. 

Outlined below are the Wahluke School District's procedures and expectations during inclement weather and school delay or cancelation. Below you will find guidelines to make this process easier for you and help you understand how weather decisions are made and communicated.

Remember:
- Do not rely on the schedule of neighboring districts.
- Always refer to our website and social media accounts for announcements. No News is Good News: If no reports have been made, the school will begin at regularly scheduled times.
- The district does not send students home early because it is snowing.We support parent’s or guardian’s decision to pick their students up early or not to send their students to school. Absences will be considered excused with a signed note.

IF MESSAGE STATE: 
“Wahluke School District will be closed for the day.”
- All students: Pre-K through 12th grade will not have classes.
- All activities at school buildings and trips are canceled.
- All after school activities such as after school Elementary Intervention Clubs and Junior High and High School Clubs are canceled.
- All after school sports games and practices will be canceled unless otherwise instructed by coaches.Administrative offices are open.
"Wahluke School Districts will operate two (2) hours late."
- Classes will start two hours after the regular schedule
- No Pre-School and EACAP Classes
- Students will start classes two hours after the regular schedule Breakfast will be served two hours after the regular schedule
