In October of 2014 the Wahluke School District was informed by Apple inc's Tim Cook that three Wahluke schools out of 114 schools nation-wide were awarded the ConnectedED grant. Apple created the grant because they knew the challenges economically disadvantaged communities face. The grant awarded iPads for each student and MacBooks and Apple TV's for each teacher. The Board of Directors and Superintendent wanted all district students to have a similar experience purchased iPads for the two remaining schools. Fortunately, the district in 2011 had already begun purchasing Apple iPads and were able to shift many of them that were already purchased into the two remaining schools. As a result, students in grades Pre- school - 12th grade use iPads daily and all staff have MacBooks and apple tv's in their classrooms. If you would like to come visit one of our high tech schools or innovative classrooms please contact the superintendent's office at 1(509) 932-4565.
