INFORMATION REGARDING P-EBT  2.0 ASSISTANCE: 2-nd Round 

Thank you, WSD Families, for updating or confirming your mailing address. To receive the 2nd P-EBT Assistance.

  • If you have NOT changed your mailing address, then you DO NOT have to update it.
  • If you DID NOT get a chance to update your mailing address during the first round, please call your student's school before April 12th to update your mailing address. WSD will be sending OSPI and  DSHS information for the benefits of February and March by April 12th.

Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and the Department of Social and Health Services of Washington (DSHS)  have been working hard to get all families their P-EBT Cards and Information. Families should already be receiving information letters with details about utilizing the P-EBT cards and the amount of benefits available to the student, these letters are addressed to the student. Cards will be mailed out during the first week of April and can be expected to arrive seven to 10 days to arrive. Cards will include the eligible students name. 

There might be a chance that WSD received your student's card if there were problems with your mailing address. If so, WSD will contact you to pick it up. For more information and details please call  1-833-518-0282

  • Si NO ha cambiado su dirección postal, NO tiene que actualizarla.
  • Si NO tuvo la oportunidad de actualizar su dirección postal durante la primera ronda, por favor llame a la escuela de su estudiante antes del 12 de abril para actualizar su dirección postal. WSD le enviará la información a la oficina de OSPI y DSHS para los beneficios de febrero y marzo antes del 12 de abril.

Families with students who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals will be eligible for this second round of P-EBT assistance. WSD will be submitting information by March 8th. Please contact your students school if you need to update or confirm your mailing address on file.

The 2nd P-EBT Assistance is new assistance available to families with students who qualify for free or reduced lunch.

How do families get P-EBT?

  • There is no application. The sign-up process will be done by the school, unlike the first time, where families had to apply. All parents have to do is confirm that their mailing address (not physical address) is up to date.
  • Benefits will be automatically issued to eligible students on a NEW EBT card sent to their household in the mail.
  • Each eligible student will receive a separate card with the name on it.

How much in benefits will families get?

Students will receive benefits based on the school where they are enrolled, regardless of individual student's attendance or educational model.

Assistance received will be based on Benefit Levels:

Benefit Level 5: Remote - No Days on Campus

Benefit Level 4: Hybrid - 1 Day on Campus

Benefit Level 3: Hybrid - 2 Days on Campus

Benefit Level 2: Hybrid - 3 Days on Campus

Benefit Level 1: Hybrid - 4 Days on Campus

  • Benefits are equal to $6.82 per day that eligibility conditions are met.
  • Benefit amounts could vary from one child in the household to another - especially since WSD grade bands had different starting dates to Hybrid Learning.
  • For the first round of payment, WSD students qualify for Level 5 from September - December
  • The first round of payment will also include January which will be Level 1.
  • For the second round of payment, WSD students will qualify Level 1 for the rest of the school year.

After updating students mailing addresses, what should parents do?

  • WSD is collecting data from families and will be submitted by March 8th.
  • After updating students mailing addresses, parents should wait to receive a letter with their new P-EBT card with their student's name. The card will have allocated money to buy food that replaces the school meals missed while schools have been closed or operating with reduced hours due to the pandemic.

Reminder:

Note that the WSD Child Nutrition Services Department has meal pickups every Monday from 11:00 AM -2:00 PM at the Mattawa Elementary Cafeteria and has meals available for students to take home Tuesday-Friday during Hybrid Learning days for AM and PM cohorts.

Please make sure to call your students school if you have any questions or need to confirm or update your mailing address.

La Asistencia 2nd P-EBT es una nueva asistencia disponible para familias con estudiantes que califican para almuerzo gratis o reducido.

¿Cómo obtienen las familias P-EBT?

  • No hay aplicación. El proceso de inscripción lo realizará la escuela, a diferencia de la primera vez, donde las familias tenían que presentar una solicitud. Todo lo que los padres tienen que hacer es confirmar que su dirección postal (no la dirección física) esté actualizada.

¿Qué beneficios obtendrán las familias?

Los estudiantes recibirán beneficios según la escuela en la que estén inscritos, independientemente de la asistencia individual del estudiante o del modelo educativo.

La asistencia recibida se basará en los niveles de beneficios:

  • Nivel de beneficio 5: Remoto - Sin días en el campus
  • Nivel de beneficio 4: Híbrido - 1 día en el campus
  • Nivel de beneficio 3: Híbrido - 2 días en el campus
  • Nivel de beneficio 2: Híbrido - 3 días en el campus
  • Nivel de beneficio 1: Híbrido - 4 días en el campus
  • Los beneficios equivalen a $ 6.82 por día que se cumplan las condiciones de elegibilidad.
