Wahluke School District: Public Statement | December 29, 2021
The Wahluke School District is aware of the recent Grant County Sheriff/INET drug seizure and arrest of former Wahluke High School Assistant Wrestling Coach, Rigoberto Tapia, on December 23, 2021.
The former employee resigned from their coaching positions with the District earlier this week and has no other current employment with the Wahluke School District.
While we make no judgments of guilt at this time, if true, the allegations represent a breach of our trust and a disappointing departure from our standards for district employees. The safety of our students is the highest priority of both our school and district staff. The District will remain focused on providing its students with a supportive and safe learning environment throughout this process.
Due to the seriousness of the allegations, the Wahluke School District will not be providing any additional information at this time.

El distrito se mantendrá enfocado en brindar a sus estudiantes un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro y de apoyo a lo largo de este proceso.
