We are looking for 5–10 parent volunteers to join us for a Learning Walk on Tuesday, November 18th, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to see teaching and learning in action across our school and to partner with us in supporting a positive learning environment for all students.
If you are interested in participating, please contact the school office at (509) 932-5694 during school hours(7:30-4:00) by 9:00 AM on November 18. We will confirm volunteers on a first-come basis.

We're teaming up with Books Are Fun and their Book Blast program to help grow our students' home libraries and encourage more reading time over screen time. For more than 30 years, Books Are Fun has helped promote literacy by getting great books into the hands of students.
Today, our students learned about the Book Blast Program and the importance of having their own books at home. Tonight, we are asking you to take 7 minutes to support our Student Home Library initiative.

To keep all students safe and our traffic moving efficiently, please follow these procedures for morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. Thank you for helping us make this process safe and smooth for everyone!
We will have staff guiding traffic to support this transition.
Drop-Off: 7:40–8:10 AM
Enter and Exit through the “Entrance/Exit” on Priest Rapids Drive.
Follow the arrows through the loop → one-way traffic only.
Pull all the way forward to the end of the loop before stopping.
Drop students off in the loop.
Students should exit curbside only (passenger side) and be ready with backpacks and belongings before entering the loop.
Stay in your vehicle — staff will be present to assist students.
Please drive slowly and watch for pedestrians.
If you need extra time, please park in the main lot and walk your child to the sidewalk.
Pick-Up: 2:45–3:10 PM
Follow the same traffic flow as morning drop-off.
Pull all the way forward to the straightaway before stopping.
Pull forward as space opens — students will come to you.
Remain in your car; staff will help direct students to vehicles.
Students must stay on the sidewalk until called by staff — no crossing traffic lanes.
If you need extra time, please park in the main lot and walk your child to the sidewalk.
You may also walk in to pick up your student. Please stay on the sidewalk and use the crosswalk.
We would like to inform you that our Lost and Found area currently has several sweaters and other student items that have not yet been claimed. During Fall Conferences, we encourage you to take a moment to check the Lost and Found for any belongings your student may have misplaced.
Please note that any items remaining after Fall Conferences will be donated to the school’s Clothes Drive to support students and families in need within our district.
We appreciate your help in making sure all lost items are returned to their owners and thank you for supporting our school community.

The SME parking lot will be closed due to an assembly. Parents if your child is receiving an award and you are joining our assembly, please find parking outside the SME fence. Parking lot and front loop will be open once school is dismissed for pick up purposes.

Parents we ask that when you are dropping off and picking up your student that you please do that in the front of the building in the loop area. We also ask that you do not get off your vehicle, if you wish to do so please find a parking spot and walk over to the pick up location. More information such as maps is yet to come regarding this matter.
