Some great memories from our Windbreaker Invitational which 21 teams gathered to compete! Tomorrow 3/26 from 9AM to 4:30 PM we will host the World Records Camp. With 10+ teams from around the state for a learn by doing clinic! See you there!

There is no CB Tech tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday due to MAP testing this week. ALL CB Tech Students should report to the High School by 8:00 am and go to the auditorium for MAP testing. Again, there is no CB Tech for Tuesday and Wednesday this week due to MAP testing.

The Mattawa/Desert Aire Lions Club is offering four (4) $3,000 Scholarships in 2022. Wahluke High School graduating students who attend a post high school educational institution are eligible. Examples are a university/college, junior college, tech school or a vocational school. One of the considerations will be past community services and plans for future involvement in our community. Please stop by and talk to Mr. Dugan or Ms. Jones if you would like an application.

WASHINGTON STATE INDOOR MASK MANDATE REMINDER The statewide indoor mask mandate will lift at 11:59 PM on March 11. This change is in alignment with Oregon and California. This means that beginning Sunday, March 12, masks will become optional in our school buildings. Staff and students will have the choice to wear a mask at school, with the expectation that others’ choices will be respected. WSD would like to remind our staff, students, and parents that no one should not make assumptions regarding someone’s beliefs or health status, nor should they comment on them. Masks will continue to be provided for those who do not have them and choose to wear them. More detailed information will be available Friday, March 11th via the district communication platform ParentSquare, website, and social media pages. Thank you for your continued flexibility and understanding as we navigate the changing requirements together.

Conversations with School Board and Superintendent: Thursday, March 10 in Staff Room School Board members and Superintendent Harlow will be in the building Thursday morning from 7:15-8:30 to have conversations with staff and parents. Please stop by for a cup of coffee, donuts and have a conversation with any one of them! This is a great opportunity for you to get to know our board members and superintendent. Staff time is 7:15-7:45 Parents time is 8:00-8:30

Congratulations to Michelle Miranda for being the 2nd place winner for the Central region commercial baking SkillsUSA contest. She has been practicing with the CBTECH Baking Team for the last couple of months in preparation for the regional contest. She is top of her class at CBTECH and a great leader in the classroom and kitchen lab. She has been invited to the Washington State Commercial Baking Competition in Tacoma to compete with students from all across Washington. She will travel to Tacoma with the team in late March for the State contest. We are pleased to announce that Saturday Study Table will be returning at WHS! March 5 & 19, April 16 & 30, May 7 & 21 and June 4 & 11. (10:00-2:00pm) There will be a drawing for a ChromeBook and lunch will be provided!

WHS Registration and Parent Night #1 was a success! Thank you to everyone who attended. We had a great turnout! Students and parents learned about the different programs, classes, and clubs available in WHS.
