WSD is partnering up with the Mattawa Community Medical Clinic to host a COVID-19c Vaccination Clinic. The vaccine clinic will be at the Wahluke High School Commons. • Monday, June 28th • Wednesday, June 30th From 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM – No appointment is necessary. – Parents or guardians will need to be available for consent for students younger than 18. WSD Child Nutrition Department is providing free grab-n-go bags filled with breakfast and lunch to any child age 18 and younger this summer through the USDA Summer Food Program for Children. Grab-n-go meals can be pickup up at the Mattawa Elementary Cafeteria from 1 PM - 6 PM. Grant County Health District shares with us the numbers of COVID-19 cases from the last 14 days within the Wahluke School District boundaries, including Mattawa, Desert Air, Schawana, and Beverly. On June 5th, the Wahluke Area had approximately 16 cases, and on June 12th, there were 41 cases. That is a total of 25 cases gained within a week. These cases are counting all ages in our area. In the last 14 days, Wahluke has gained 57 COVID-19 cases. WSD would like to give a Recognition of Excellence shoutout to Wahluke High School freshmen student Diego Olivares Vazquez for his latest achievements in soccer. Diego is currently playing for the Three Rivers Soccer Team and has been playing for the Three Rivers Soccer Club for 2 years. Diego states, "You definitely grow as a player. It’s given me many opportunities, such as going to Orlando, Florida, for a national tournament. That is one of many tournaments I have gone to while being in the Three Rivers Team. Now I have this upcoming Regionals' tournament on June 21-27 where we will stay in Boise, Idaho for 6 days and compete for our way into nationals." Our high school, teachers, students, and community members would like to wish him and his team all the best while representing the talent of Wahluke School District and Mattawa, Washington.
