COVID-19 District Information Portal

The WSD has created this portal to help communicate and inform our staff and families as we traverse this pandemic and begin to get students back to campus. Please check back often for the latest information.

In every of the confirmed cases, we want to assure you that we are assisting in contact tracing and investigative work with Grant County Health District. We are following our safety procedures of wearing face masks, creating social distancing, and cleaning our facilities following the Center for Disease Control safety guidelines. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 in our area and adjust our responses and actions if need be.

Positive Case Reports

January 21,2022

We have experienced twelve confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our District. One PreSchool Staff Member who was on campus during a contagious period. Three Mattawa Elementary Students, one off and two on during a contagious period. One Saddle Mountain Elementary Student who was off campus during a contagious period. Six Wahluke High School Students, three on and three off during a contagious period. One District Staff member who was on campus during a contagious period. We are assisting in contact tracing and investigative work with Grant County Health District. We want to assure you that we are following our safety procedures of wearing face masks, creating social distancing, and cleaning our facilities following Center for Disease Control safety guidelines. January 20, 2022

We have experienced 9 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our District. One Mattawa Elementary Student who was off campus during a contagious period. Three Saddle Mountain Elementary Students, one on and 2 off campus during a contagious period. Two Junior High Students both off campus during a contagious period. Two Wahluke High School Students on campus during a contagious period. One Wahluke High School Staff on campus during a contagious period. We are assisting in contact tracing and investigative work with Grant County Health District. January 19, 2022

We have experienced 30 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our District.  One PreSchool Staff member who was on campus during a contagious period. Four Mattawa Elementary Students all off campus during a contagious period. One Mattawa Elementary Staff member who was on campus during a contagious period.  Four Morris Schott Elementary Students, two on and two off during a contagious period. January 20, 2022 – 2:00pm

GCHD is reporting 1275 (PCR = 725, antigen = 550) additional Grant County resident cases of COVID-19 since our last update on January 13. At the time of this report, 12 Grant County residents are hospitalized with COVID-19. Patients ages ranged from 40’s to 80’s. Latest cases are from all areas of Grant County. Mattawa gained 131 cases since last reporting on 1/13/22.

We also report 5 additional deaths Grant County residents who died of confirmed COVID-19 disease. These deaths bring the total Grant County confirmed COVID-19 related deaths to two hundred and thirty one (231), and two(2) pending.

Tests are also available at select distribution sites. Call ahead before heading out, and be sure to wear a mask upon entering the facilities.

** The Mattawa Community Clinic is offering the COVID 19 Vaccine as well as the booster Pfizer shot if you are eligible.  Mattawa Clinic is also offering Pediatric Pfizer COVID Vaccines for 5-11 yr olds starting 11/8/21 from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm. Call for an appointment at 509-932-4499.

 CBHA is offering both Moderna and Pfizer booster  doses. On December 1st, CBHA will be administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Thursdays and Fridays. Call to  set up your appointment for the booster dose at 509-932-3535. WSD staff are qualified based on the workplace risk from being employed at a school district.
